I’ve got several things to thank God for such as the free pizza lunch from work today (Teriyaki chicken with bacon pizza rocks!), Aj being safe yesterday following a minor car issue, my new pair of leopard print shoes (and then some), a happy phone conversation with mom and dad, a feast of leftovers dinnertime with the hubs, being able to stay up late because it’s Friday night and a possible chance of sleeping in tomorrow. The greatest thing though: taking off from work early for the 4th of July weekend. I could have gone somewhere else, I know! But another idea was beckoning and I pursued it. I realized that I cannot even remember the last time I took a quiet afternoon nap and so I decided to indulge in the luxury of it without thinking twice — forget about the laundry…and the bathroom that was craving for Clorox! I turned on the security alarm — motions on, no entry delay — and texted the hubs so he’ll make sure to disarm it before coming in. I got rid of my day clothes, slipped into our cool 600-thread Egyptian cotton sheets (Perfect Nap Rule #1: the more skin contact with cool smooth-like-butter sheets, the better wink), put on my eye covers and didn’t even turn on the tv, no music either…not even the best spa music around. Aaaah sweet! I conked out in no time and drifted off to dreamland. Glorious! And one hour stretched to three. I must have been that deprived! I feel very recharged now. So much that right now, at 12:52am, I am so up and looking for something to do, tee hee! But yeah, that nap was awesome. It’s in the list of good things I wish for everyone now. Like, “Happy New Year, or Happy Thanksgiving, or Happy 4th of July.”
Have a “Happy Naptime”, y’all!
