D23 - Days Before New Year's Eve
Two days to go and I’m feeling a little blue. Don’t get me wrong! I’m excited for the coming year. But I think I’m having a little separation anxiety with 2009. Not that I’m not willing to move on. There are just some unfinished business which I feel should have been drawn to a close in 2009 at least and never to be carried through the coming of the new year....
Day 21 - Back to Reality

Before I drifted off to deep REM last night, I promised myself that I wouldn’t be calling in sick Monday. Because let’s put it this way, come hell or high water, I want to remain in the good guys list at work. Just need to be practical these days.

Day 20 - Sicky sick
Okay, so I woke up with a little pain in my throat (or tonsils?) I’m 37 and kind of educated and still can’t tell the difference, hahaha. Blame it on the throat…er, urhm, or tonsils. Just kidding. Day after Christmas is always a special day because it’s my mom’s birthday. Day 18 - Christmas
Food. Family. Friends. Fun. I can’t even decide on the order. They all rank first! But I had to mention the food first, of course.

Day 17 - Christmas Eve
Officially off work on this day! I wanted to sleep in but all the fuss over the details of hosting Christmas Eve got the better of me and so I was up at 6am. Plus, I wanted to make good my promise to hubby that I’d be up the moment he rises from bed to go to work. I made use of the early quiet morning to call my parents and wish them Merry Christmas since they are celebrating Christmas ahead...

I was thinking about it on my way to work. This holiday season isn’t really as stressful and nerve-wracking as it had been for me the past recent years. Is it really less stressful? Day 14 - Corned Beef
I finally caught up!!!
I’ve been busy but grateful for a good day at work.
What I’m most thankful for? The corned beef for dinner!!! Truly a life saver at this busy time!!! No special home-cooked meals for now, til Christmas eve perhaps.

I realize how difficult it is to be thankful when your mind and body are occupied with a million pesky distractions. Like this stiff neck for instance!!! I was pain-free for a while until one lazy night when I fell asleep while reading again, with my silly head lodged on sixty million pillows on an angle that only russian contortionists trained since birth can muster. This is my daily “thank you” project. I’m happy to launch it today, Dec. 8th. Feast of the Immaculate Conception…a very special day for me, and most of us. I hope to be able to continue putting in my daily gratitude entries for 365 days and onward.
