In life God doesn’t give you the people you want, instead He gives you the people you need. To teach you, to hurt you, to love you, and make you exactly the way you should be.
Aside from the dance music streaming from my co-worker’s speakers (volume was down but audible enough to make me start dancing – inside my head that is, and looping to the same set over and over that I’m starting to choreograph my own moves it’s beginning to be a full length entertainment show), the rest of my Monday is rocking as ever.
The past days had been great and fruitful too. Isn’t it...

I held a tiny fragment of a dinosaur bone today c/o my co-worker who just came back from a mining trip in Utah. Mesozoic? Cretaceous? Jurassic? Or a lost dog from the 50s. Just kidding, I’m giddy as hell. It’s going to be a good week for all of us (because I said so LOL).
I SEE SKIES SO BLUE
For the first time in months, maybe a couple of years, I took a walk during lunch break sans any electronic device attached to me. No music plugged into my ears – thanks to the iPhone battery which went kaput on me right before I finished shoving my tootsies into my tennis shoes. No Kindle on my hands either because I had forgotten to charge it yesterday.
I don’t quite remember how it feels...

TORN
I’m actually torn between reading “My Hollywood” (my current read) and catching up on new posts at http://www.yourghoststories.com for my afternoon coffeebreak.
What a trivial dilemma, isn’t it?
But it is in these trifling moments that I like to linger. It puts my mind back to an “everything is small stuff” perspective. And gives an entirely new meaning to...
Accomplishment of the day:
After cramps, sweat, much panting and random epileptic moves, I learned Shakira’s Waka Waka routines… woot woot!
Note to self: Next time, remember that you are no longer the 20-something dancer that you once were!
The Kind of Faith He Has in Me =)
I bought a pair of tiny denim shorts at Forever 21 last night as an incentive for the diet plan I started.
Hubs: How’s the fit?
Me: Almost good.
Hubs: You should have gotten a different size then!
Me: Why…you don’t think I’ll be able to fit into them?!?
Hubs: They might eventually be too big for you.
"MAKE SOMEONE'S DAY TODAY...
…It might be the only sunshine he gets all day.”
A retired co-worker, Moodie, came by today to see us months after undergoing a complicated kidney treatment. He’s walking with a limp now and with the help of a cane. He’s an 80-ish African American who lived in the Philippines for a long time back in the day while he was in military service and who, like the others, fell in...

Free Pizza and Pasta
And free soda too.
Actually, that was yesterday. But I realized that I hadn’t updated this gratitude journal for eons and those were the first things that came to mind. Food, what did you expect!?!
Since spreading gratitude — and infecting others to be grateful too — is one of my chosen purposes in life now (wow, how profound can this get, just kidding, but yes, it’s...
4th of July Thoughts
If those fireworks were stars, I would have made a million wishes — for friends & family, my parents & hubby, all of you & me. I did anyway!
NAPPED!
I’ve got several things to thank God for such as the free pizza lunch from work today (Teriyaki chicken with bacon pizza rocks!), Aj being safe yesterday following a minor car issue, my new pair of leopard print shoes (and then some), a happy phone conversation with mom and dad, a feast of leftovers dinnertime with the hubs, being able to stay up late because it’s Friday night and a...

A Gratitude Haiku: Futile attempt #2
What long pig-out day,
Gluttoned out, now hurtin’ bad.
Great food and great friends…

I must stop apologizing for my sporadic posts. But this blog at inception was really born with very idealistic and surreal visions of spreading constant inspiration to many (yeah right), as with my…
Finally, a post!
Tumblr is taking its own sweet time downloading today, so it seems. But I’m not going to let this keep me from posting something after such a long gap of…”wordlessness”. This is supposed to be a gratitude journal, dedicated solely for keeping tab of things I am thankful for (snippets of my other written stuff are meticulously archived at http://www.missclarisse.com by the...

LOLA'S OLD SINGER SEWING MACHINE
Usually, I have a title before I even write the blog. Or at least a topic, a concept…a blueprint to trace as I compose and weave the words into a tapestry that makes sense (or nothing at all such as how the future of this particular entry looks). Maybe. Maybe not. I’m randomly shooting blanks right now and you can perhaps blame it on the caffeine withdrawal (for attempting to stop...
On April 19th, hubby discovered that a hummingbird had built a nest amongst our rose bushes. I’m not sure what to be thankful for — finding the nest, or hubby screaming in joy upon finding it as if he won the lotto or something. He could be grateful about little things like that too. It makes me smile thinking how happy he was to share it with me to this day.
Come Mother’s Day,...

Like I said in my Wonder Wifey site, no, I didn’t get abducted by aliens. I’m just on a short hiatus — enjoying my parents while they are here on a short visit. Will be back writing in no time! I…
"Sharing an AAAAWWWW! Moment"
This is one of the reasons why I am always so gung-ho on sharing personal photos or stories (in FB or in one of my blogsites). I simply can’t contain the happiness and gratitude I feel over the little things that make me feel oh so over the moon! This morning for instance… I was leaving for work, I said goodbye to my parents who are staying in our house for a short vacation when all of a...

"I SEE SKIES SO BLUE"
Oh what a wonderful, wonderful day this was! Thank you, God, for letting it unfold as planned… It’s for the sole purpose of making our parents happy anyway. Isn’t life’s design so beautiful? When you’re young, little and helpless, your parents try their hardest to give you the best, show you the world, and share everything that life has to offer. Then at one point in...
"REMEMBER APRIL"
My parents are staying with hubby and me for a month and a half of vacation.
I’m making up for lost time.
Trying to load up precious memories for next “lost time”. If that is at all possible. =(
I’m busier than I have ever been.
Suffice it to say, happier than I have ever been.
Here’s my TY Cloud for my luv-loaded April:

April Fool's
I can’t begin to tell you the horror I had to go through this morning. It’s not that I didn’t find a solution right away, but it was more of the initial shock because it was way out of the normal routine…my usual scheme of things, so to speak. I scooped up my work purse getting ready to head out to the garage when I realized that I had forgotten to retrieve my good old...

March 28
The week went by quick with a lot of things to thank God for — yet coupled with stressors arising intermittently sometime Wednesday and Thursday. Some crazy surprises related to the events we’ve been organizing and racking our brains for, almost pushed me to the brink of another bout of hairfall. Good thing everything had been so far addressed as I write this. I just keep holding on to my belief...
March 6-11
I have been able to log into this gratitude journal every 4…5…6(?) days on average. I guess that’s how it’s going to be from now on, unless I can afford the luxury of free time once again. Better than being idle, I must say. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop, so goes the oft-repeated cliche. Ahh free time! When it does materialize — it pops up like a random...
March 5 - Friday
If my grandmother was alive, she would have been 104 on this day. *sigh* It’s amazing how most of my childhood memories go home to thoughts of her…the epitome of a matriarch. Growing up, I’ve had mixed emotions about living with her from Day Zero of my life because she was strict, conservative and strong — enough to drive a tween or a teenager crazy during the typically...
MARCH 1,2,3,4...
I’m slacking again. Why is it sometimes too difficult to find time to be grateful? No, let me correct that. It’s really easy if I just squeeze about 5 seconds of my time to acknowledge what to thank for…inside my busy head. That’s exactly what I have been doing the past days again. Cheating. Working my way around this commitment. Keeping track with…Keywords!

FEB 28 - SUNDAY
Thank God for Facebook I got reunited with one of my old friends. She’s in town from New Jersey and we decided to meet. As it turns out I live not too far away from where she was staying. Serendipity! We were able to catch up a little, with a promise to see each other again.
And oh, my Sunday morning was good too. After church, the hubs took me to Mi Pueblo where we bought our supply of...

2. Finishing articles online (my side job) — the offers have been coming again so that means wifey’s getting paid!!! It’s not as much as before I slacked off in mid-2009 due to emotionally-charged circumstances (resorting to...
